"Making ourselves feel ugly is not fun"...."This whole game is just designed to make us hate ourselves." I think Shay is just angry, because she doesn't exactly believe in the Surgery and she doesn't want to grow up just yet.
"Everyone else judged everyone else based on their appearance. People who were taller got better jobs... people killed one another over stuff like having a different skin color."
I think they are talking about how it used to be different when people didn't care about the things that made you Ugly or pretty.
"Its the only way to make people equal" Talley is talking about how it would be difficult if everyone was different because then people would get made fun of and not alot of people would be pretty.
